Welcome to CT City, a monthly profile of Connecticut artists currently killing it. Being so close to NYC, CT artists have to fight a little harder to get out of the shadow of the Empire State, but deserve just as much respect. CT has a LOT going for it; these are some of the artists doing the Constitution State Proud!
Norwalk designer Eleni Tsaparakis had her share of titles & brick & mortar jobs before deciding to go into business for herself as a freelance digital designer. Founder of Eleni Digital Designs, she tried her hand at both in-house and agency design – big names including ASSA ABLOY (where we worked together) and Alexander Isley Inc. In an industry that is rapidly restructuring to cater towards digital-focused audiences, Eleni struggled finding 9-5 gigs with the right kind of digital work to excite her & grow her skills. So she did what any bold, determined artist only dreams of doing: working for herself.
Making the leap wasn’t an easy process, but a necessary one to secure her peace as an artist, & one that I seriously admire. Garnering a steady stream of clients is a constant hustle, but Eleni continues to grow her reach & skills, servicing several local business & organizations. Her services include website design, motion graphics & social media marketing, using a model of monthly subscription packages to ensure she lands recurring work & solid client relationships – very important for any freelance artist!
